  • Funeral services for Melloween C. Epperson, 90, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary for almost 32 years. The Rev. Donny Custar and the Rev. Kevin Russell will conduct the services, followed by burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
    Melloween was born July 21, 1923, at Ardmore, to the late Henry Ford and Willie (Chandler) Ford. She had lived here all of her life, and was a graduate of Ardmore High School, the class of 1941.
    She and Harold Dee Epperson Jr. were married Nov. 19, 1945, at Ardmore. Harold preceded her in death July 19, 1964.
    A member of Emmanuel Baptist Church since 1964, Melloween went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, following a brief stay in the local hospital.
    Survivors include her son, Glendall Epperson and wife, Donna, of Norman; her daughter, Pam Epperson of Ardmore; grandchildren Julie Towery and husband, Craig, and Gary Epperson and wife, Sondra; four great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.
    Serving as bearers will be Ike Kyle, Ken French, William Landrum, Max Morgan, Bert Quick and Dr. Garland Clay. Honorary bearers include Rick Orr, Don Flanagan and Boyd Howell.
    Memorials may be made to the building fund of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
    Services will be directed by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory.
