The month of November was an outstanding one for the city of Ardmore in terms of building permits.
Permits for construction in the amount of $7,506,181 were approved by the city, the majority of which will be for residential construction. Of those homes, 46 will be built by Lance Windel Construction, with the values of the residences predominately $100,000. Some homes the company will build on Lakeshore will have values ranging from $133,000 to $153,000. BSR Enterprise, Reunion Homes and S. Hill applied for a permit to build one home each, for a total value of $6,416,040 in home construction valuation for the month.
Calvary United Pentecostal also applied for a permit to build a new church building at 905 N. Rockford. The value of the building will be $800,000.
With one month left in the year, it has been a good one for the city, with a total of $45,576,806. The month of November was the second highest of the year, trailing only a reported $8,027,000 in August. November was also significantly up from the $3,808,107 reported for October.
December does hold promise, as does the new year, with several different companies showing interest in Ardmore. The city has approved a permit for a Hilton Hotel, which will be located on Holiday Drive, south of the Pecan Creek Apartments. The hotel will have 122 rooms, with an estimated construction value of $5 to $6 million. The Noble Foundation will also be building a cafeteria with a value of $1.1 million.
"It's been a good year for the city, and the future looks promising," says Nick Diaz, director of developmental services.
