Memorial services for J.W. Hobbs will be noon Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the McLish Avenue Church of Christ, with Cody Westbrook officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at the Marlow Cemetery.

J.W. was born to Rufus McDaniel Hobbs and Ada Arnold Hobbs. He passed from this life on Dec. 25, 2013, at the age of 87. He married Mildred McCasters on Jan. 18, 1948. She passed from this life on Dec. 9, 1995. He later married Edith Jackson in 1988.

J.W. was the founder of the Chickasha Antique Auto Club. He loved drag racing, gardening, especially growing it and giving it all away, and collecting all models of cars.

J.W. is survived by his wife, Edith Jackson; daughter, Rosalie Whatley; granddaughter, Belynn Whatley; grandson, Trey Whatley; great-grandsons, Braxton Whatley and Hobbs Whatley; and great-granddaughter, Elle Whatley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Giles, Lovell Hughes, Tom Matlock and Michale Haggard. Online condolences may be made at
