Services for Ronald James "Slim" Talkington will at 11 a.m. be Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Bro. John Genn officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 this evening.
He was born on August 9, 1946, in Sulphur, to Oscar D. "Twink" Talkington and Eula (Williams) Talkington. He passed away at his home on December 28, 2013, in Ardmore. Ronald served in the United States Army, graduated from Dickson High School in 1966, and was a retired lineman for OG&E.
He is survived by his daughters, Bethanie Talkington of the home, Maegena Walker and husband, Tony of Wilson, and Angela and husband, Bob Crawford of Ardmore; sons, Shawn Tucker and wife, Tabitha of Ardmore, and John Devlon Sifford and wife, Cristal of Decatur, Texas; sisters, Janie and husband, Bobby Bell of Lone Grove, and Faye and husband, Raymond Williams of Millcreek, Okla.; brother, Frank Talkington and wife, Wanda, Drake, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar D. "Twink" Talkington and Eula (Williams) Talkington; wife, Patricia Sue Huff-Talkington; brothers, Charles Talkington and Quenten Talkington; and one granddaughter, Cassie Thompson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Thompson, John Devlon Sifford, Clay Bell, Dusty Thompson, Doug Williams, Chris Forson and Wesley Talkington. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Bell, Raymond Williams, Billy Shans, Frank Talkington, Tony Normile, Timmy Taylor and Jamie Taylor.
