Any question of whether or not there would be an election for the at-large seat on the Ardmore City Commission was answered early Thursday morning.
There will be.
Doug Pfau and Darrell Meeks both filed to fill a seat that will be left vacant by incumbent Keith King. King told the commission that he would not seek re-election during a meeting in 2013. At that time, he told the commission Pfau would seek the seat. Meeks ensured there would be a race by also throwing his hat into the ring.
The filing period will continue today and Monday. Interested parties can file for the seat with the city clerk from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A primary election for the seat is scheduled for March 4. A general election will be April 1 if necessary.
