George H. Johnson went home to be with his son Bradley, brother Charles and mother Lucy of Dec. 28, 2013. His nephew Charlie had recently joined them. This must be quite a celebration. George probably had a new story or two to share as he was known by his family and friends as a fun loving man who always had a story to tell.

George was born in Bristow, Okla. to Lucy and Lawrence Johnson on Sept. 2, 1938. He attended Sand Springs School Oklahoma Military Academy and was a graduate of OSU. He also served in the army.

He is survived by his wife Julene Wade Johnson; sister Betty Conway; children Tamara, Machel and Brian; grandchildren Zack, Adam, Heather, Bethany, Hunter, Sydney and Matthias; great grandchildren Morgan, Hayden and Bradley. George felt very honored to be considered Pa Pa by John and Louie also. His extended family Bill Lemley, step-son and two step grandchildren Jared and Jake, several nieces, nephews and in-laws.

George loved people and delighted in making them laugh. He was an honest, hard working man, a talented artist, enjoyed golf and O.U. football. He was extremely devoted to his wife of 32 years Julene. He loved God and spent many years studying Christianity.

A celebration memorial will be announced at a later date. Meanwhile, he can enjoy his rest in the arms of the angels.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore.
