Gerald W. “Jerry” Williams, 65, was born Dec. 12, 1948, and passed away March 14, 2014. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today, March 17, 2014, at the Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, with Chaplain Ken Haney officiating.
Jerry was born in Ardmore to Harry and Bernice Williams. He loved going camping in Colorado, as well as fishing and bird hunting. He was a handy person to have around, and could fix or mend just about anything you could imagine. He had strong hands, but a very soft and giving heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Bernice Williams; brother Gene Williams; aunt and uncle Ercie and Jake Henderson; cousin John Henderson; and his grandparents, Frank and Eunice Rountree.
Survivors include wife Wanda Williams; son Randy Cavner and wife Shannon of Gardner, Kan; grandchildren: Grason and Kate Cavner; two brothers, David Williams of Lexington, Okla., and Doug Williams of Ardmore; sister-in-law Linda Williams of Sulphur; four nieces, Amber, Jenny, Cassidy and Kelby; two nephews, Shawn and Jeffrey; cousin Elaine Zipperle; childhood friend Don Mitchell and wife Diane; special companions “Millie,” “Sadie,” and “Blackie;” and numerous other relatives and friends who will dearly miss him.
Memorials can be made to either the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center or ASPCA.
