The Ardmore Lady Tigers’ golf team finished second on Monday in the Lawton MacArthur tournament at the Ft. Sill Golf Club. Ardmore shot a 358 to finish four shots behind winner Class 6A Bishop McGuinness (354).  The Tigers finished ahead of third-place Duncan (360) by two strokes.  

Liz Hargis led the Lady Tigers finishing second with a score of 79, Sam Peters shot a 91, Shelby Peters shot 97, Ragen Holt shot 93 and Katelyn Hartman shot a 95.  

The Lady Tigers play next Monday at McAlester before hosting the Max Williamson Invitational at Lakeview Golf Club on Wednesday.     

Comets place second at Lake Murray

The Dickson Boys Invitational at Lake Murray Golf Course featured 18 schools, with Pauls Valley taking top honors with a team score of 337.

Dickson finished second with a 364, Purcell (376) finished third, Washington (377) was fourth and Lone Grove (379) finished fifth.  

Thackerville (400) took 7th, Ardmore (411) was 10th, Sulphur (442) finished 11th, Turner (443) took 12th and Davis (466) was 15th.

Matt Henry from Pauls Valley was the top individual finisher shooting a 76, Purcell’s Dakota Green shot a 78 for second place and Pauls Valley’s Garrett Fisher was third with an 84. 

The top local finisher was Cody Parkhill from Dickson in seventh with an 86, Turner’s Cail Scarbrough was ninth with a 90 and Aaron Rizzo from Lone Grove finished 10th with a 91. 

Dickson’s Tyler Hartsell (91), Collin Potter (93), Brint Mitchell (94) and Cody Flowers (115) contributed to the second-place finish.

Lone Grove’s Bryce Newton and Jacob Biber joined Rizzo in shooting 91, Kyle White (106) and Devon Gunter (122) also contributed to the fifth-place finish. Lone Grove’s Jacob Swanson played as an individual and shot a 116.

Thackerville’s Jarred Buckaloo (104), Ethan Hale (97), Tanner McGage (99), Trent Hollar (100) and Tristen Shurbet (123) combined for the team’s seventh-place finish. 

Ardmore’s team of Micheal Nichols (97), Dayne Coffman (99), Jacob Terry (109), Luke Stevenson (106) and Jacob Terry (109) finished 10th.

Sulphur’s Tyler Mureno (98), Nolan Benn (112), Reed Blevins (113), Kevin Rios (119) and Jordan Baumgardner (126) took 11th as a team.

Turner’s team of Scarborough (90), Jacob Stewart (117), Tyler Smith (117), Blake Addison (119) and Ty Hartman (119) finished 12th.

Davis finished 15th with the team of Braden Clinton (102), Wyatt Collins (117), Cooper Jones (122) and Langston Grinstead (125).  

Indians take sixth at Norman North Invitational

The Plainview Indians were invited to the prestigious Norman North tournament this week and finished sixth against tough Class 5A and 6A competition.

Plainview’s two-round total was 616. 

Carson Seals shot a 78 on the first day and a 71 on the second day. 

Blake Riesen shot a 77 and followed it with a 76, Cooper Little shot a 78 and improved to 75 on the second day, and Hunter Sudberry shot an 83 and followed with a 78 on the second day. 

Edmond North won the event with a team score of 589.
