Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt on Wednesday announced Chris S. Thrutchley as director of the AG’s Office of Civil Rights Enforcement. Thrutchley will be based in Tulsa.


“Chris is an experienced attorney in human resources and best employment practices, and understands the importance of promoting civil rights and equal employment opportunities by educating employees and employers about discrimination law. We are thankful he will be able to offer his expertise to citizens and businesses in Oklahoma,” Attorney General Pruitt said.


Thrutchley has advised and trained employers in equal employment matters since 1993. He has partnered with employers to develop, implement and audit best employment practices, and has been a frequent author and speaker on employment law and human resources subjects.


Thrutchley is a former HR Director with responsibility for more than 3,250 employees. He has served as chairman of the OBA Labor and Employment Law Section, vice president of Legal and Legislative Affairs for the Tulsa Area HR Association and vice president of Programs for the Tulsa EEO Coordinators' Association.


The Office of Civil Rights Enforcement (OCRE) is a division of the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office. The OCRE investigates, conciliates and files civil enforcement actions in response to complaints of discrimination that violate Oklahoma’s anti-discrimination statute.
