Memorial services for Charles Wayne Mills, 84, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in the Centennial Chapel of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with the Reverend Tony Caro officiating. Private inurnment will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
The son of the late George W. Mills and Veola Bell (Jones) Mills, Charlie was born on Dec. 19, 1929, in Glynn, Okla., and passed away on March 26, 2014, at Mercy Hospital Ardmore.
A lifelong resident of the Ardmore and Springer area, Charlie grew up in Springer, where he graduated from Springer High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force receiving the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal and was Honorably Discharged. Charlie and the former Joyce Michael were married on Dec. 29, 1979, in Ardmore. He was a retired salesman with the Bob Bell City Produce and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of the home; sons, Gary Mills and Rodney Mills; daughter, Lisa Mullis; brother, Pat Mills; stepson, Mike Fox; granddaughter, Dr. Nikki Fox; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
