  • Memorial services for Charles Wayne Mills, 84, will be 11 a.m. Wednes­day, April 2, 2014, in the Centennial Chapel of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with the Reverend Tony Caro officiating. Pri­vate inurnment will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
    The son of the late George W. Mills and Veola Bell (Jones) Mills, Char­lie was born on Dec. 19, 1929, in Glynn, Okla., and passed away on March 26, 2014, at Mercy Hospital Ardmore.
    A lifelong resident of the Ardmore and Spring­er area, Charlie grew up in Springer, where he graduated from Springer High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force receiv­ing the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal and was Honorably Discharged. Charlie and the former Joyce Michael were married on Dec. 29, 1979, in Ardmore. He was a retired salesman with the Bob Bell City Produce and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Joyce of the home; sons, Gary Mills and Rod­ney Mills; daughter, Lisa Mullis; brother, Pat Mills; stepson, Mike Fox; grand­daughter, Dr. Nikki Fox; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchil­dren.
    In lieu of flowers, me­morials may be made to the Dean McGee Eye In­stitute Foundation, 608 Stanton L. Young Boule­vard, Ste. 346, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
