Services for Michael John-Peery Rice will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry-Forest in Madill.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 this evening at the funeral home.
Michael was born March 10, 1977, at Ardmore, to Michael Ray Rice and Marilyn Peery Rice. He passed from this life on March 30, 2014, at the age of 37. Mike graduated from Lone Grove High School in 1995 and was a drum major his junior and senior year. He then attended Murray State College and obtained his associate degree. He loved derby cars with the boys, fishing, swimming, listening to AM radio and OSU. He also enjoyed singing, cooking, watching documentaries, Star Wars and target shooting. Michael was a very gentle kind man, loving father, husband and kind soul.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Almer and Juanita Brewer; Kinchloe and Edna Peery; and Bill LaFevers.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie of the home; sons, Braxton Bivins of Mannsville and Harlin Rice of the home; parents, Michael and Marilyn Rice of Lone Grove; sister, Natosha Rice and Deb Clark of Norman; mother-in-law, Clarice “Mom” LaFevers of Milburn; sisters-in-law, Kristin Michael (David), Kandi Hopper, Amanda Black and Kimberly LaFevers; brother-in-law, Shawn Bell (Alicia); and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Braxton Bivins, John Copeland, Josh Norton, Jeremy Norton, Dinzie McGill and Greg Parker. Honorary bearers will be Harlin Rice and Luke Word.
