The search continues for a missing tank truck driver who vanished without a trace early Thursday from an oil lease in rural Gene Autry, and Carter County Sheriff Milton Anthony is urging anyone with information about Brandon Nichols’ disappearance to come forward.

“We have not located him. We are following all leads and we are encouraging anyone who believes they may have any information to contact us immediately,” Anthony said Saturday afternoon.

Nichols’ truck was discovered abandoned about 10:30 a.m. near Happy Trials and Pleasant Road. The sheriff said the truck was “hooked up” to a salt water tank on the lease site. And while Nichols’ cell phone and shirt were found at the scene, there was no sign of the 31-year-old Jefferson County man.

“We have found no signs — nothing that would indicate foul play,” Anthony said at the time.

Nichols is described as a white male, 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing approximately 215 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

“He may be wearing a beard and mustache or he could be clean shaven. At this point we don’t know,” Anthony said.

Anyone with information concerning Nichols’ whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding his disappearance should call the CCSD at (580) 223-6014.
