  • Robert Starr Haile, a young man who lived his life on his own terms, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Robert was born on May 27, 1990, to Randy Lynn and Roslyn (Janca) Haile in Ardmore.
    Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Colvert Ministry, 503 W. Broadway St., with the Rev. Jessica Seay officiating. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore.
    Robert attended Ardmore Public Schools and graduated from East Central State University in 2013 with a degree in history. Robert was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore. Robert was employed as an intermittent staff member of the Ardmore Public Schools. As a student of history, Robert loved everything old, including jazz, antiques and classical authors. Robert mentored the students who he taught, and was well-known for bringing history alive for his students.
    Robert was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Starr and Virgie Haile; and his maternal grandparents, Robert Janca and Karen Garland.
    Robert is survived by his parents, Randy and Roslyn; his sister, Kimberly (Chris) Moore; nieces Layla and Adalyn; and nephew Trevor. He is also survived by aunts and uncles Donna Storey and Kelsey and Chris Janca (Debbie); godparents Robert and Diana Pyle; and numerous relatives and friends.
    Pallbearers will be David K. Seals Jr., Max Kuhl, Dominic Pickett, Henry Evans, Waylon Phipps and Will Douglas.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Robert Starr Haile Scholarship Fund in care of the Greater Ardmore Scholarship Foundation, 301 W. Main St., Suite 210, Ardmore OK 73401.
