  • An Ardmore man told police Saturday afternoon his ex-wife had “pulled a gun” from her purse and threatened him with it, but an investigation into the allegations uncovered a different story and a different crime.
Ardmore police Sgt. Brice Woolly said the man called police dispatchers about 12:25 p.m. saying his gun-slinging former wife had just left his residence, located in the 600 block of E. Main Street. The alleged victim handily gave police a nearby address where he said the ex-wife could be found.
Police officers did locate the woman at the address her former husband gave, but that was the only information the man had provided that was found to be true.
The former wife said she had not pointed a gun at her ex-husband. In fact, she said not only wasn’t she armed, she hadn’t been at his residence. However the woman said she knew why her ex had made the false police report.
“She told officers her ex was mad because she refused his offer to have a threesome with him and his new wife,” Woolly said.
Officer searched the woman’s purse. No gun was found. And witnesses at the residence where she was located also confirmed she had not left the house at any time prior to officers’ arrival.
