  • An Ardmore man is behind bars facing multiple charges that began with allegations of domestic abuse and ended following a short police pursuit Thursday.
Ardmore Police Department reports indicate an officer spotted Donny Gordon about 10:40 a.m. Thursday near a residence where a victim had lodged a complaint against him just days earlier. The complaint concerned threats Gordon had allegedly made concerning the safety of his estranged wife in the 700 block of H Street NW.
Gordon’s car was stopped, but he fled in the vehicle during the initial investigation. He was captured within minutes after a short pursuit and arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, attempting to elude and stalking. He was booked into the Carter County Detention Center.
Court records show Gordon has a prior history of domestic abuse. He pleaded guilty to a felony charge of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in September 2013.
New felony charges of eluding a police officer and possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor stalking charge were filed Friday against the 27-year-old man by the district attorney’s office. He made an initial appearance before Special District Judge Thomas Baldwin in Carter County District Court. Bond was set at $35,000.
County jail records indicate Gordon remains incarcerated pending the posting of bond.
