Ardmore police are searching for two men who attempted a strong-arm robbery in a 12th Avenue NW parking lot Friday morning.

Sgt. Brice Woolly, APD Patrol Division, said the botched robbery occurred about 11:45 a.m. in the Ardmore Commons parking lot, located in the 2400 block of 12th Avenue NW.

“The female victim was walking through the parking lot when two black males approached her. She said she noticed them because they were dressed all in black. As they passed her, they tried to grab her purse. She struggled with them and managed to keep her purse, but her cell phone was damaged and she sustained some minor injuries,” Woolly said.

An eyewitness reported seeing the two men flee in a small dark blue or black sedan.

The suspects are described as both being 18 to 25 years old. Both were tall and thin.

Anyone who may have observed the attempted robbery or have information concerning the identity or whereabouts of the suspects is urged to contact police headquarters at (580) 223-1212.
