  • Cassie Marlana “Pocahontas” Turner, 32, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Decatur, Texas. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest. Cremation services under the direction of Hillcrest Crematory, Ardmore.
    Cassie was born on Dec. 1, 1981, at Hobbs, N.M., to Michael Gene Turner and Donna Gaye (Gilbert) Turner. Her family moved to Ardmore in 1986, and she attended Dickson School. Cassie worked for Lasley’s Convenience Store, Pro-Insulation and Siding, Ardmore Livestock, and as a bartender at Moe’s Bar in Lone Grove. She worked for K&C Oil Services in Wilson until this time.
    Cassie loved riding, partying and having a good time with her friends. She spent time with her girls every chance she got. She collected knives and Indian jewelry, and was an artisan herself. She was an avid NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan. Tony Stewart and Peyton Manning were her favorites. Cassie will be remembered for the joy she found in life.
    She was preceded in death by her stepfather, William “Tooter” Gilbert; niece Patsy Jean Hubbard; grandparents; and her “Old Man,” Thomas “Tonto” Garcia.
    Cassie is survived by her mother; two daughters, Dalana Jean Morris and Danielle Jay Morris, both of Ardmore; two sisters, Christy Hubbard and husband Lewis, and Catina Bruce and husband Kenny, all of Ardmore; and nieces and nephews Jay Garcia, Chaslynn Hubbard, Dakota Turner and Dylon Bruce.
