Graveside services for Goldie Gilliam McDougall are scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Rose Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Gene Thompson officiating. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the Craddock Funeral Home.
Goldie was born June 7, 1918, to Chloe (Jackson) Gilliam and Hershal Gilliam in Duncan. She passed this life on May 27, 2014. She and Duane R. McDougall were married in Hollywood, Calif., in 1954. She had fond memories of living in Hollywood where she worked as a hostess at the Cock and Bull Restaurant where she had the opportunity to meet many celebrities of the day.
She is survived by her sisters, Kenna K. George and Dolores and husband David Quintana; her brother, Ron Gilliam and wife Jonnie; her sister-in-law, Betty Ann Gilliam; 14 loving nephews and nieces; 17 great-nephews and nieces; 15 great-great-nephews and nieces; and extended family members coast to coast.
Married to Duane R. McDougall of Carter, Okla., for 46 years, Goldie lost the love of her life Dec. 18, 1996. Also preceding Goldie in death, were her parents; her sisters, Oleta Hodges and Valaska Hudson Leen; her brother, Hershal “Coach” Gilliam Jr.; her brothers-in-law, Zack Hodges, the Rev. Theodore Leen and Woodrow George; and niece Susan Hodges Wiese.
