  • Funeral services for Lois Ann Beavers are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory, officiated by Bob Smee. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
    Lois was born Aug. 3, 1936, in Boston. She passed this life in Oklahoma City on June 14, 2014. Lois married Jerry Beavers on April 9, 1955, in Rockland, Mass. They moved to Oklahoma in June 1955, following Jerry’s honorable discharge from the U.S. Army.
    Lois had an unwavering love for the Lord and her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, working in the garden and reading.
    Lois retired after many years of service from Mercy Hospital Ardmore, where she was a unit secretary. She was a devoted and longtime member of the McLish Avenue Church of Christ.
    Her parents, Hubert and Ethel McLean Maxwell, and brothers Robert and George Maxwell preceded her in death.
    Lois is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jerry Beavers; daughter Cathy Elmore and husband Rodney; son Gerald Beavers; daughter Lori Patrick and husband Roy; daughter Karen White and husband Eric; grandchildren Patti Hunt and husband Stefan, Jerry Bostic and wife Brittany, Shaun Patrick, Lindsay Patrick, Paige Castleman and Blake Castleman; and great-grandchildren Austin and Preslee Hunt, Braden Bostic and Deegan Patrick.
    Honorary bearers include Ray Harness, Chock Aldridge, Earl Mann, Harold Dillard, F.A. Shellenberger and James Meece.
    Services are under the care of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
