SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Alva Eugene Paul, 90, of Branson, Mo., at peace with the Lord, died June 26, 2014. Born July 4, 1923, at Wirt, Okla., to Fred W. and Parlee Thomas Paul.
He married Myrtle E. Tucker on Dec. 18, 1944, in Fresno, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army as a carbine sharpshooter with the 1369th Quartermaster Corps from 1943-46. Graduated from the School of Horology, Hardin College, Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1948 and established Paul’s Jewelry in Healdton, 1954-59. State Manager National Motor Club 1960-65. Incorporated United Automobile Association, Lincoln, Neb. 1966-92. Volunteer Firefighter with Southeast Fire Rescue 1969-71. Caller & Teacher Cross Trailers Square Dance Club 1970-92. Retired to Blue Eye, Mo. Lake Table Rock 1992-2004, lived in Branson, Mo. 2004-13, then lived at Mt. Vernon Veteran’s Home from 2013 until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Luther Andrew, Lee Lawrence, Fay Walter and Karl Malcom; and sisters, Flora Anna Lee Houghton and Thelma Oleta Yeatts.
Survived by wife, Myrtle E. Paul; brother, Fred J. Paul; children, Patricia A. Tokoly, Belinda M. Paul, Alva R. Paul and Debra S. Ioannides; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Interment service with military honors will be at 9:30 a.m. today at the Committal Shelter, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO 65804. Flowers and cards may be sent to 142 Hillside Ct., Branson, MO 65616.
