Funeral services for Ronald Thomas McGuire, 71, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel, with the Rev. Donny Collins officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
The son of the Charles Thomas “Mickey” and Winifred “Winnie” Thomas McGuire, Ronald was born Feb. 22, 1943, in Evansville, Ind., and passed away at his residence July 3 surrounded by his family.
Ronald was a graduate of Ardmore High School, where he played football, and then attended the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City University. He married the former Mary E. Keltner, and they celebrated 52 years together.
Ronald retired from Michelin Tire Company, and later was manager for TempCo Supply in Ardmore. He was a member of the Crossroads Church. Ronald was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He gave his heart to the Lord Feb. 11, 1988. He served as a deacon, and taught Sunday School classes, and loved studying the Bible and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; daughter Rhonda Jackson and husband Mike; son Dennis McGuire and wife Claudia; sister Delores Steudeman; grandchildren Casey Jackson and wife Julie, Brooke Jacks and husband Steven, and Chelsi, Lauren, Kailey, Mary and Chaz McGuire; and great-grandchildren Micaela Jackson, J.G. Gaston, Austin and Gaberial Jacks, Candence and Kinlee Hartman, Rayleigh Stingley, Abrina Blanton and Gary Pratt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Merle Dean McGuire Sr.
