Memorial services for William A. (Bill) Robertson will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in the Craddock Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Rick Baggett will officiate.

Bill was born in Marietta on April 4, 1930, to William King Robertson and Mona Franklin Robertson. A lifelong area resident, he died at is home on June 30, 2014.

Growing up in Marietta, he was a graduate of Marietta High School where he was president of his class for four years. He attended both the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma A&M (OSU) for two years.

He retired from the accounting department of Samedan Oil Co. after 25 years of service.

Upon retirement, he began a new career in opening the Bill Robertson Realty Co. He served as president of the Ardmore Board of Realtors from 1983-86. He currently was serving on the Board of Directors of Chickasaw Club Lake. Bill and Rosemary attended the First Presbyterian Church, where they especially enjoyed their Sunday school class.

Bill was married to Carrie Lou Johnson at Marietta on June 18, 1950. A daughter, Debbie, was born to this union. Carrie preceded him in death on April 13, 1973. He and the former Rosemary Traugh Schwab were married in Ardmore on Feb. 14, 1974. Together he and Rosemary enjoyed traveling, and especially loved attending cooking schools in Italy and France. He was an avid golfer, and when he and Rosemary were not playing together, he enjoyed playing with his golf buddies. He loved gardening and keeping his lawn to perfection. He took advantage of his gardening ability by also canning chow chow and making pear preserves from the fruits of his labor. He also was a creator of many beautiful stained glass pieces. Bill and Rosie spent many wonderful times with family and friends at Lake Murray. Bill delighted in time spent with all his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Scott Blair, Norman; sister Suzanne Puckett and husband Lynn, Marietta; two stepsons, Michael Schwab and wife Kathryn, San Anselmo, Calif., and Randy Schwab and wife Annette, Edmond; two granddaughters, Carrie Blair, Oklahoma City, and Jamie Jennings and husband Danny, Norman; four grandsons, Dr. Paul Schwab and wife Debbie, Lynden, Wash., Eric Schwab, Larkspur, Calif., Peter Schwab, Los Angeles; and Dr. Garrett Schwab and wife Lindsay, Wichita, Kan.; granddaughter Emily McKinney and husband Dr. Ben McKinney, Memphis, Tenn.; great-granddaughter Ellie Schwab, Lynden, Wash.; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim Robertson.

Family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 this afternoon at Craddock Funeral Home.
