A deer in the road led to a motorcycle crash Monday that sent two Ardmore residents to an Oklahoma City hospital.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Dallas Yow, 34, was airlifted from the scene of the accident on state Highway 76, one mile south of state Highway 29. Yow was admitted in critical condition with multiple injuries to OU Medical Center.

Sarah Stidham, 27, a passenger on Yow’s 2011 Harley-Davidson, sustained a head injury. She was taken to Pauls Valley General Hospital by ambulance and then airlifted to OU Medical Center, where she was admitted in stable condition.

OHP reports indicate neither Yow or Stidham were wearing helmets at the time the motorcycle hit the deer, which was apparently standing in the road.
