  • When school starts next month for Dickson Public Schools, students will arrive back to classes seeing many familiar faces, but serving in different administrative roles for the school district.
Larry Case, superintendent at Dickson Public Schools, will no longer serve in the principal position for the upper elementary school. For the 2014-15 school year, he will be the district’s superintendent full-time and no longer split his time between the administrative office and the upper elementary school.
David Gardner moves into the upper elementary school principal position for the coming school year. The former assistant high school principal and athletic director is familiar with the third- through fifth-grade school building. During the past school year, Gardner helped Case at the upper elementary school with various administration duties.
At the middle school, Matt Krimmer will serve as principal, taking over the job from Rex Trent, who was the principal of the high school and middle school last school year. Krimmer taught math and served as an assistant principal along with Jason Ward for the 2013-14 school year.
Ward, also a math teacher, has been named assistant principal at the middle school and high school. He will also take over the athletic director duties from Gardner.
Trent will remain principal at the high school, and Debby Custer continues to serve as principal at the lower elementary school.
Last October, Case was named interim superintendent following the resignation of Sherry Howe. The Dickson school board approved a measure last winter to drop the “interim” from Case’s title of superintendent and employ him as the district’s superintendent for the 2014-15 school year.
Classes resume at Dickson schools on Aug. 13.
