The Great 100 Nurses Foundation is accepting nominations to honor Oklahoma nurses for their contributions to the medical profession. The foundation honors registered nurses for their commitment to the industry while supporting nursing scholarships, advocacy, research and new practices.
The nomination deadline for Great 100 Nurses Celebration of Oklahoma is August 4.
“We’re looking for the top 100 nurses in the state to represent Oklahoma,” said Carol Robinson, registered nurse and chairperson for the Great 100 Nurses Foundation Celebration of Oklahoma. “This is an event to honor nurses who are truly exemplary in the level of care they provide patients, as well as the critical support they provide to the entire medical profession.”
The foundation has honored exceptional nurses for 28 years. Every year, statewide community, civic, health care and government leaders, family, friends and peers join together to celebrate and honor some of their state’s finest nurses.
Nurses are selected by a panel of peers based on a proven concern for humanity, dedication to the nursing profession and service as a mentor or role model for others. Anyone, including health care professionals, patients and community members personally impacted by an Oklahoma nurse, may nominate qualified nurses.
This year’s award ceremony and celebration is at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on Sept. 30, marking Oklahoma’s first year as a participating state. P.K. Scheerle, R.N., Great 100 Nurses Foundation founder and nationally recognized leader in nursing, will be the keynote speaker.
The 2014 Great 100 Nurses Celebration of Oklahoma sponsors include Cherokee Nation, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, Gifted Healthcare, Integris and The Print Shop in Claremore. Additional sponsorships remain available.
