Funeral services for Jackie Lee Speaks of Lone Grove will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel, with Chaplain Matt Benedick officiating. Interment will follow at the Crinerville Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 7 this evening, under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home & Crematory.

Jack was born Nov. 8, 1942, in Crescent, to the late Aubrey Jack and Mary Wilma (Morrisset) Speaks. He died on Wednesday morning, July 22, 2014, at the Sulphur hospital.

Jack married the former Kay Ivey on Nov. 13, 1966, in Roff. She preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 2004.

Jack graduated from Norman High School in 1961, and attended the University of Oklahoma. He moved to Ardmore in 1971 from the Oklahoma City area, and worked at the Uniroyal tire plant. He later opened the Lone Grove Machine Shop in 1981.

Jackie loved to fish and hunt, and his passion was to go on African safaris. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.

His parents, and his wife, preceded him in death.

Jack is survived by his son, Todd Speaks and wife Kenda of Davis; daughter Tracey Jackson and husband Jason of Little Elm, Texas; grandchildren Faith, Kaylee and Carson Speaks, all of Davis, and Addison and Kylynn Jackson, both of Little Elm, Texas; sister Linda Jo Bowers and husband Hal of Oklahoma City; and nieces Stephanie Thomason of Keller, Texas, and Paula Hanson of O’Fallon, Mo.

Casket bearers will be Todd Speaks, Jason Jackson, Johnny Bogle, Jerry Graves, Jarvis Hunt and Ron Thomason.
