Dinah Kay Henson, 57, a life-time resident of Ardmore, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 25, 2014, in Ardmore. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest, Ardmore, with Pastor David Dawson officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore.
After years of battling cancer, Dinah finally found peace on Friday, July 25, 2014, with her beloved family by her side. Dinah was born on Aug. 4, 1956, to Woodrow Stevenson Taylor and Mary Louise (Mose) Taylor. She worked for the Chickasaw Nation for more than 21 years. Dinah married Michael Ray Henson on Sept. 26, 1984, at Gainesville, Texas. She was a long-time member of McAlister Baptist Church, and had recently been attending New Heights Baptist Church in Ardmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Woodrow Stevenson Taylor Jr.
Dinah is survived by her husband, Michael Henson, of the home; daughters Trista Carney and husband Randy, Hollie Henson and companion Gabe Frazier, and Shawna Caldwell and husband Gary; grandchildren Justine Carney, Haley Carney, Michael Carney, Katelyn Smith, Brayden Smith and Audrey Rhynes; step-granddaughter McKenzie Caldwell; and sisters and brothers Linda Denham and husband Jerry, Henry Taylor and companion Pamela Shurley, Mary Marris and husband Phil, and Erey “Steve” Taylor and wife Lou.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Henson, Zane Henson, James Eubanks and Gaylon Rhynes II.
Visitation on Monday, July 28, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Griffin-Hillcrest, Ardmore.
