A medical condition has been attributed to an accident in which a Chevy Tahoe ran through an unoccupied house Monday.

The incident occurred at 11:46 a.m. at 517 Lake Murray Drive, Ardmore Fire Department Commander Darin Butler said. A woman was driving west on Lake Murray Drive with two juvenile children. Butler said a medical condition caused the woman to lose control of the vehicle, which went through the side of a residence.

A bystander witnessed the incident. He entered the residence, shut off the ignition to the vehicle and extricated the two children from the vehicle, Butler said. The Ardmore Fire Department and Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service arrived at the scene and extricated the woman from the rear of the vehicle. Butler said the Tahoe was partially out of the house, and first responders were unable to open the doors.

The driver was taken to Mercy Hospital Ardmore to be checked out. The two children were not injured and were taken from the scene by a relative.
