Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agents, along with Carter County Sheriff’s Department and Ardmore Police Department narcotics officers, raided a northwest side residence Thursday afternoon, arresting one person, and seizing cash and weapons.

OBN Agent-in-Charge Bryant Knox said Michael D. Finnegan, 26, was taken into custody without incident, when lawmen served a search warrant at his residence, located in the 400 block of E Street NW.

“We found two ounces of methamphetamine, two firearms and $19,000 in believed drug proceeds,” Knox said.

Finnegan was booked into the Carter County Detention Center pending trafficking methamphetamine, possession of firearms in the commission of a felony and possession of drug proceeds.

Knox confirmed a female was present inside the house at the time of Finnegan’s arrest. The woman was not taken into custody.

Finnegan became the target of what Knox said was a “very short” joint investigation by the three agencies.

“We got the information and started an investigation which took just a few days before we obtained the search warrant,” he said.

Finnegan was booked into the Carter County Detention Center pending formal charges

Court records indicate Finnegan has a felony criminal history in Love County which includes convictions for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of controlled dangerous substance and possession of CDS in the presence of a child. It is possible formal charges could be filed as early as today, and Finnegan could make an initial appearance on those new charges in Carter County District Court this afternoon.
