  • Lady Bulldogs run-rule Velma-Alma

  • Abbie Etter led the Lady Bulldogs to a 14-0 win over Velma-Alma with four RBIs on three hits on Monday.
    Makayla Nipp and Lexi Gage added two RBIs apiece. Nipp had two hits and Gage had a walk. 
    Logan Miller finished with three hits and Mikaela Reuber went five innings in the circle with two strikeouts. 
    Healdton brought five runs home in the second inning, four in the fourth and five more in the fifth on 14 hits. 
    Velma-Alma committed two errors and managed two hits while Healdton had one error.
    The Lady Bulldogs (4-2) host Empire at 4:30 p.m. today before hosting a festival on Friday and Saturday.
     
    Davis 8, Marietta 0
    The Lady Wolves continued their unbeaten start to the season with an 8-0 win over Marietta on Monday.
    Macie Buckaloo led Davis (6-0) with two RBIs, while Becky Wilson and Casady Webb added one RBI apiece. 
    Webb also had four hits, Wilson had two hits and Jolie Romine added two hits. 
    Logan Willis went three innings in the circle for Marietta (2-6) with four strikeouts and was walked. Cashlynne Williams pitched 2.1 innings with one strikeout.
    Davis built a 7-0 lead after four innings and added the eighth run in the sixth. Davis had 12 hits compared to two for Marietta. 
     
    Turner finishes runner-up in Calera
    The Turner Lady Falcons played three games, winning one to reach the title game of the Calera tournament this past weekend.
    Wright City defeated Turner 7-2 in the final game. 
    Sophomore Jacey Henry pitched every inning of every game during the tournament.
    Wright City defeated the Lady Falcons 3-0 in Turner’s first game on Saturday.
    Henry struck out five hitters.
    Turner bounced back to defeat Caney 8-0, with Keirsten McCraw leading a balanced offensive effort.
    She drove in a pair of runs, while Henry, Tracy McGill and Brianna Paul each drove in a run.
    In the circle, Henry struck out five.
    The win set up a rematch with Wright City.
    Turner fell 7-2.
    Henry again struck out five, and junior Sierra Parker stole home, and McCraw drove in the other run.
