  • No wonder Hollywood was planning a sequel to “Mrs. Doubtfire.” An overwhelming number of of the 1,000 American adults who participated in a recent national telephone poll say they have seen a film starring the late Robin Williams, and that film is their favorite.
    Eighty-six percent of s share a favorable opinion of the actor and comedian who committed suicide last week. This includes 52 percent with a very favorable view. Just 8 percent have a somewhat or very unfavorable opinion of Williams.
    A staggering 93 percent say they have seen a movie in which Williams starred.
    Given a list of his top films, 34 percent choose “Mrs. Doubtfire” as their favorite, with “Good Morning, Vietnam” a distant second at 18 percent. Thirteen percent list “Good Will Hunting,” the film for which Williams won an Academy Award, as their top choice, while nearly as many (11 percent) opt for “Dead Poets Society.”
    Nine percent prefer the animated film “Aladdin” for which Williams did a comic voiceover. Six percent choose “Patch Adams” and 1 percent “The Fisher King.” Four percent like one of the other 73 films that Williams performed in.
