Carl Curtis Dodson, 94, passed away on Sunday in Arlington, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in The Chapel at Griffin - Hillcrest, Ardmore, with interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Carl was born on March 3, 1920, at Elgin to Walter Dodson and Etta (Comer) Dodson. He married Miss Pauline Armistead on March 14, 1940, at Walters. The couple were members of First United Methodist Church of Ardmore and the Friendly Neighbor class. He worked at Texaco for 38 years, starting his career as a roustabout. He retired at the water flood plant in Lone Grove. Always good with his hands, he was a good carpenter, working on the side, and gardener. An avid Cardinals fan. He loved fishing for catfish and will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of over 67 years, Pauline Dodson; and son, Paul Curtis Dodson.
Carl is survived by sons, Dr. Gary Dodson and wife, Darlene of Gainesville, Texas, and Rick Dodson and wife, Debi of Ardmore; daughter Vicki Grimsley and husband Keith of Arlington, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Dodson, Colby Dodson, Tim Bondie, Josh Rogers, Mike Dodson and Rick Dodson.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. prior to service Friday at Griffin-Hillcrest, Ardmore.
