LOVE COUNTY — Two Houston residents were killed in a one-vehicle accident that also left one person hospitalized.
The accident occurred at 1:48 p.m., Sunday at the 18-mile marker on Interstate 35 according to a Department of Public Safety report. A 2001 Ford, driven by Jose Gabino Mandujano-Garcia, 39, of Houston was traveling south when he said his tire blew out. The vehicle departed the roadway to the right and rolled one time, coming to rest on its wheels. Three passengers were ejected.
Hortencia Mandujano, 35, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner from injuries sustained in the accident as was Maria Del Carmen Labrada-Miranda, 50, of Houston. Alexander Mandujano, 25, of Houston was also ejected and was transported to Mercy Hospital Ardmore where he was treated and released.
Rosa Mandujano, 24, of Houston, was transported by Air-Evac to Plano Medical Center in Texas where she was admitted in stable condition with trunk internal injuries.
Mandujano-Garcia and an 11-year-old male were transported to Mercy Hospital Ardmore, treated and released.
The report indicated that seatbelts were not in use and airbags did not deploy. The condition of the driver was listed as normal and the cause of the collision is under investigation.
