The Daily Ardmoreite publishes wedding, engagement, anniversary and birth announcements in Sunday editions. Rules and guidelines for submitting information follow.
WEDDINGS/ENGAGEMENTS: New wedding and engagement forms will soon be available at The Daily Ardmoreite office and will clearly outline what information will be printed at no charge, and the additional details that can be added for a fee of $35, which includes having announcements posted to the Ardmoreite’s Web site, www.ardmoreite.com.
There are two options for photographs:
A 1-column by 3-inch photo will be included with the announcement at no charge.
A 2-column by 41/2-inch photo can be included for $10.
Photos for publication should be black-and-white glossy prints or good-quality color prints — preferably taken by a professional photographer. No Polaroids should be submitted.
The photos must be in a VERTICAL, not horizontal, format.
A photo of the bride only or both the bride and groom may accompany the wedding article. However, snapshots of the bride and groom taken at the wedding should not be submitted.
Pictures can be picked up at the newspaper office after they have been printed. Photos left for more than two months will be discarded.
The editor reserves the right to refuse to publish any photograph.
To properly process all information, forms and payment must be received by noon on Monday prior to the desired publication date.
Engagement announcements should be submitted to appear no later than one month before the wedding. All wedding announcements received three months after the event must be paid.
ANNIVERSARIES: Anniversary announcements will be accepted starting at 25 years and will be published in five-year increments for a $25 charge, which includes the announcement and a 2-column by 41/2-inch photo. Anniversaries for couples married 50 years or longer will be published free of charge.
All anniversary announcements will be posted to the Web site.
NEW ARRIVALS: All birth announcements submitted to The Daily Ardmoreite on the official form, available at the newspaper office, will still be printed free of charge. However, photos of babies can be included with the announcement for a $10 charge.
The announcement forms must contain the signatures of both parents before they will be accepted for publication. The names of all parents and grandparents will be included, but only the names of living great-grandparents will be published.
