Contracts awarded for Carter County highway repairs

Several contracts were recently awarded for highway repair projects in Carter County, Sen. Johnnie Crutchfield, Rep. Ownbey and Rep. Sam Buck announced.


According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the first project involves regrading and draining the surface on Interstate 35 4.1 miles north of the Love County line extending north. The State Transportation Commission awarded a contract for approximately $21 million to Dobson Brothers Construction Company. Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed by November 2010.


The second project involves regrading and resurfacing the bridge on U.S. Highway 70 over Cotton Wood Creek 8.5 miles west of I-35. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation awarded a $3.5 million contract to OBC Inc. Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed within 270 days.


A third contract was awarded to improve the roadway drainage structure along I-35 beginning a half mile north of U.S. Highway 70W and extending north. The State Transportation Commission awarded a contract for approximately $1.3 million to Schiralli Construction Corporation. Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed within 150 days.
