The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet is scheduled for Feb. 19 at the Ardmore Convention Center.
The theme of the banquet this year is “Charting the Course.” The theme will be reflected in the decorations and provide the opportunity to review the “course” followed during 2009 and to chart the “direction” developed as a result of the Ardmore 2020 Visioning Process.
The awards banquet will highlight the major accomplishments of the Chamber, Tourism, Chamber Foundation and the Ardmore Development Authority for the past year, honor individuals chosen by chamber members as outstanding community leaders in 2009 and provide an update on the Ardmore 2020 Visioning initiatives.
Nominations are now being accepted for the Southern Oklahoma Women’s Health - Bob Cypert Leadership Award and the BancFirst Small Business of the Year Award, which will be presented at the event.
The Bob Cypert Leadership Award is given to an individual who exhibits a positive attitude, works behind the scene to enhance the community, works for the good of the community, is active in civic and community work and exhibits vision and forethought for the betterment of the area.
The Small Business of the Year Award honors a small business that has thrived and contributed to the economic vitality of the Ardmore area. Previous winners of the award include Ardmore Plumbing Supply, County Building Center, the Ritz Cleaners, Two Frogs Grill, IMTEC, In-Touch Communications, Café Alley and several other local businesses.
