Citizens Bank and Trust Co. and the Ardmore Beautification Council are providing a shred day for privacy papers Thursday.
“This is our America Recycles Day effort in Ardmore,” said Nancy Sjulin. “Individuals and people from small businesses can bring up to 5 boxes of privacy papers to be shredded. No staples or metal bindings need to be removed.”
The event will be held at the main bank location at 12th Avenue and North Commerce Street from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A drive-through system will be in place to make it easy and efficient for participants, with volunteers on hand to assist in the unloading of papers from vehicles.
According to Norma Lynne Paschall, ABC executive director, “File Thirteen will shred the paper for us. The paper will be taken to their recycling facility where it will be baled and sent to a pulper in order to make new paper products. This service is being offered free to Southern Oklahoma citizens and it is another great example of how recycling can benefit our lives.”
America Recycles Day is a nationwide initiative of Keep America Beautiful. Their slogan this year is, “It all comes back to you!”
