If you aren’t quite sure what AYP is all about, I invite you to attend one of our lunch bunches or happy hours…or one of our service projects. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the number of young professionals in this town! The more I talk with our membership, the more I learn about the profound impact of AYP on our active members. Notice the word “active” in that statement. I know you’ve heard it before, but a membership in AYP is truly only worth what you make of it…
Quick story: When I moved to Ardmore I knew a few co-workers and a few of my neighbors, and some of my husband’s friends. Fast forward two years and one AYP membership later, I was looking over the hostess and guest list from my baby shower and I suddenly realized the impact of AYP on my personal life! The hostesses and guests were almost 100% friends that I met through my AYP networking. I couldn’t believe that these friends I had met so quickly and instantly connected with were right here in Ardmore and it took me becoming involved in AYP to find them! Since that time, my network of people both professional and personal has grown even more. The more involved I’ve become, the more people I’ve met. And here’s the funny part…I STILL haven’t met every young professional in Ardmore. There are a lot of YPs that are in town and just not as involved as they’d like to be – yet. And there are a lot of YPs that are moving into town! So if you’re reading this and thinking you’d like to get more involved, please visit our website or Facebook page, email us, or send us a telegram that you are interested in becoming involved. We would love to have you and you’ll be glad you joined!
Ardmore Young Professionals (AYP) is a network of individuals who connect through social and professional opportunities, engage with diverse views, serve the community, and lead better with support and focus.
Join a network of professionals and friends. A membership application form may be downloaded on ardmoreyp.com. Dues are $25/year.
Events are worthwhile and often: leadership series, Dutch lunch bunch, happy hours, mega mixers, holiday parties, and water park family night are great opportunities to broaden your association and develop your connections.
Service inspires leaders, and our energy is contagious. AYP coordinates community efforts for the yearly school supply drive and a winter coat drive, which collected 155 coats in 2011. Monthly Adopt-A-Spot and the A2A Marathon water station take us outside. AYP members serve on numerous local and statewide boards, including the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce and United Way of South Central Oklahoma.
