Anniversary celebration slated for ‘program at FBC

Ardmore, OK —

First Baptist Church’s Celebrate Recovery Program will celebrate five years Thursday with a “Chili and Cornbread Cook-Off.”


The cook-off will begin at 5:30 p.m. in FBC Fellowship Hall.


Chili and cornbread recipes will be judged and prizes award in three categories - Best Tasting, Most Creative and Most in Need of Recovery.” Anyone wishing to enter the contest should call Denny Spradling at (580) 465-3090 for details.


Live music will be provided during the cook-off by the Finding Faith Band, also known as the Cross-eyed Recovery Band, and will feature guest musician and songwriter Roy Allen. Local songwriter and artist Erik Tucker will also be featured in the Connection Cafe’ following the event.
The cook-off is free.


Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery program for anyone “with hurts, hung-ups or habits.” Meetings are 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays in the FBC Brady Chapel.


FBC is located at 225 1st Ave. SW (corner of 1st Avenue and C Street SW)
