Ardmore, OK —

The Athenaeum Study Club met on Oct. 27. Mary Stebens reviewed “The Women” by T.C. Boyle, which is a story about the women in the life of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Is it easy to live with a genius? Wright’s life was one long howling struggle against bonds of convention, whether social, moral or romantic. He never did what was expected. Despite the overblown scandals surrounding his public divorces and financial disarray that dogged him throughout his career, he never let anything get in the way of his larger-than-life appetite and vision.

“The Women” is an entertaining drama about the bargains men and women make and the twisting of genius and fame.
