Friday the 13th ended up being unlucky for an Ardmore man trying to elude the police.
Jonathan Deon Johnson, 24 is in the Carter County Detention Center after his arrest Friday night, and faces felony charges of eluding a police officer and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Charles Carman, administrative services division manager with the Ardmore Police Department, said officers were dispatched to the 600 block of A Street Northeast on a fight call. He said when officers arrived, they found Johnson in his maroon Pontiac trying to leave the scene. Officers attempted to stop him but he fled, almost running over one officer and almost seriously injuring another.
Johnson’s flight from the police didn’t last long, however. Carman said Johnson crashed into a parked car on 6th Avenue Northwest, not a block from where the incident began.
No bond has been set on the charges at this time.
