Local builders secured building permits for six new homes valued at $1,213,244 in May. The home values ranged from $145,000 to $300,000.
The City of Ardmore issued permits for those homes plus a variety of other construction projects that had a total value of $4,476,605.56 for the month. Those monthly totals are the highest so far this year. By comparison, the total estimated construction value of permits issued in April was $1,884,619.
Four property owners bought permits in May to renovate existing homes with a total construction cost of $87,000. A permit also was issued to build apartments at 26 Burton St. at an estimated construction cost of $250,000. Another permit was issued for a manufactured home at 1507 Harvey Road.
Construction companies purchased permits to make alterations, repairs or additions at 1149 S. Plainview Road. ($890,347), 2517 Sam Noble Parkway ($1,720,000) and 11 W. Broadway ($150,000).
Permits were also issued for three pools, five signs, two storage units, two storm shelters, a greenhouse and a variety of other projects.
The city has issued permits for projects with a total estimated construction cost of $14,874,753.96 so far this year.
