Ardmore Daughters of the American Revolution regent Nell Truitt and Constitution Week committee chairman Pat Jurey recently presented materials on the U.S. Constitution and American history to Oak Hall Episcopal School.
Ten copies of the DVD “A More Perfect Union” and the accompanying teachers’ guide/educational packet will be given to additional schools in the area.
According to Jurey, the goals of her committee include emphasizing the responsibility of protecting and defending the Constitution and preserving it for prosperity, understanding that the Constitution is a great heritage and the foundation of this country, and studying and promoting the historical events that occurred during September 1787.
The Ardmore DAR chapter strives to remind Americans, especially young students, that the Constitution is a living document that guarantees the freedoms we enjoy.
