The Ardmore Rotary Club named Ardmore High School Senior, Morgan Merritt; and Plainview High School Seniors Sarah Greufe and Blake Smith January Students of the Month.
■ Morgan Merritt, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Merritt, has a 4.0 grade point average. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, International Club, Leaflets, and Ardmore High School Pom Squad. Her honors and awards include All-American dancer, Hobby Leadership finalist and Academic Achievement. She is the Co-captain of the Pom Squad, Secretary of Student Council, and National Honor Society President.
Morgan enjoys choir, dancing and attending church. She has worked for First United Methodist Church as a child care worker. Her future plans are to attend Oklahoma State University and major in business. Ardmore City Schools is very proud of Miss Morgan Merritt.
■ Sarah Greufe, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Greufe, has a 4.0 grade point average. She is a member of Shannon Crites School of Dance, Beta Club, Christ Community Church Youth Group, Student Council, Young Women’s Leadership Ardmore Alumni. Her honors and awards include Superintendent Honor Roll, Blue Ribbon Scholar, Oklahoma Honor Society, Curriculum Contest2nd place in English I and 5th place in U. S. History. She also attended Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Sarah enjoys reading, writing, hiking, dancing, playing the guitar, hanging out with friends, and trying new things. She has worked for Paws 4 Fun Pet Boutique as cashier, Richard’s Snow Cone Stand, Regional Park Concession Stand, and dance student helper. She plans to attend either Baylor or OU and major in journalism or film. Plainview High School is very proud of Miss Sarah Greufe.
■ Blake Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Smith, has a 3.8 grade point average. He is a member of the varsity football/ baseball, Young Men’s Leadership Ardmore Alumni, Beta Club and Maranatha Youth Group. His honors and awards include Baseball-Young Indian Award, Pitcher of the Year, and American Legion Post #65 Baseball Citation; Football-Ardmoreite Super Team Defensive End, 2A-4 Coaches Award, Offensive Lineman Citizenship- H. V. Thornton Award.
Blake enjoys playing baseball, hunting, fishing, being at the lake and outdoors. He has worked for Cowboy Lawn Care, a scrap metal business and as a ranch hand. His future plans are to play baseball at the college level and major in architectural engineering or the medical field. Plainview High School is very proud of Mr. Blake Smith.
