Lone Grove, OK —

Emily McCullough of the Lone Grove FFA chapter is among the 41 Oklahoma FFA members statewide to receive a scholarship to attend the 2008 Washington Leadership Conference in our nation’s capitol June 1-8.
These FFA members were recognized during the 82nd State FFA Convention at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City on April 29.
More than 2,300 FFA members from around the nation will experience the unique and rewarding opportunity to attend the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. Students are challenged to take their leadership skills to the highest level by learning how to solve local problems, build relationships, and develop their character by living to serve.
FFA members will tour our nation’s capitol, visit with members of Congress and perform a service learning project within the Washington, D.C. area while building friendships with fellow FFA members from across the nation.
The Oklahoma FFA Alumni Association sponsors two charter buses to the Washington Leadership Conference each summer for the scholarship recipients and approximately 60 other FFA members who pay their own way or find local sponsorships to attend.
