Students in the Social Work Practice II class at East Central University will present an adoption awareness forum from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Estep Multimedia Center on the first floor of the University Center.

The forum is open to the public and will present the process for adoption from finding a child to the final court approval. A question and answer panel will include Pontotoc County Associate District Judge Martha Kilgore; Dr. Jim Burke, chair of ECU’s Human Resources Department; and representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and the Chickasaw Nation who work with adoptions.

Students organizing and presenting the forum include Tabitha Miller and Dawna Williams of Ardmore.

The forum is part of Adoption Awareness Month in November.
