The Lone Grove Thundering Herd marching band and color guard has had a very successful season this year. They competed in the Oklahoma Bandmaster’s Association State Marching Contest in Bixby. The group qualified for finals competition and placed eighth overall.
In Lawton, the Thundering Herd received a Regional Marching superior rating. The color guard received a superior rating for its group ensemble on that day, as well. The band and guard returned to Lawton in November and received a superior rating at the Lawton Superior Contest. The color guard was named Outstanding Color Guard in the 4A Superior Marching Division.
