Ardmore Rotary Club announces area Students of the Month

The Ardmore Rotary Club has recognized four seniors from area high schools as Students of the Month.


Jean “Lucien” Querubin, a senior at Ardmore High School, has a grade point average of 4.111. He is the son of Vio and Armie Querubin.


He belongs to the National Honor Society, Science Club, student council, International Club and orchestra.


He has been on the superintendent’s honor roll, Blue Ribbon Scholar, orchestra state and district competitions for solo and small ensemble.


He has held the offices of science club secretary and freshman student council secretary. His interests are tennis, violin and karate.


His future plans are to attend the University of Oklahoma and pursue a degree in the medical field.

Kristin Dao, a senior at Ardmore High School, has a grade point average of 4.1702. She is the daughter of Long Dao and Anna Nguyen.


She belongs to the National Honor Society, Science Club, Drama Club, orchestra, Leaflets and academic team.


She has received the Outstanding Achievements in Academics award, Blue Ribbon Scholar, superintendent’s honor roll, firt place in state orchestra small ensemble, first place in the library bookmark contest, placed in scholastic meets for Spanish I, Algebra and Chemistry and been on the president’s honor roll at SOSU.


She has held the office of treasurer of the Science Club. Her work experience includes being a salon clerk and nail artist.


Her future plans are to attend Baylor University and major in chemistry in pursuit of being a pharmacist. She would also like to major in fashion design or art.

Tess Lackey, a senior at Plainview High School, has a grade point average of 4.05. She is the daughter of Paul and Sandy Lackey.


She belongs to 4-H, Plainview track and cross country, First Baptist Church youth and BETA Club.
She has been on the superintendent’s honor roll and been student of the week.


She is senior class secretary and 4-H county vice president.


Her hobbies are riding horses and drawing/sketching. She has worked as a riding instructor at summer horse camp for two years.


Her future plans are to attend Oklahoma State University and become a veterinarian.

Dave Kittrell, a senior at Plainview High School, has a grade point average of 3.2. He is the son of Thomas and Elaine Kittrell.


He belongs to the Plainview state championship track team as a 3-year letterman, Southwest Baptist youth group and Young Men’s Leadership.


He has been on the honor roll, Chickasaw Honor Club, principal’s citizenship award, student of the week, U.S. track and field national qualifier in shot put and nominated for Congressional Student Leadership Conference for LeadAmerica.


His hobbies include competing in shot put and discus, watching sports, camping and target shooting.


He has owned and operated a lawn mowing business since 2003. He also volunteers at Adult Day Services.


His future plans are to attend Oklahoma Christian University and major in history.
