A parade, carnival, car and motorcycle show and rodeo are among activities scheduled Thursday through Saturday as part of the annual Healdton Oilfield Days celebration.
Summertime Amusements & Carnival will open at 6 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, according to Amy Grace, Healdton Chamber of Commerce treasurer. The carnival will be set up across from the high school.
A rodeo will begin with Mutton Bustin’ at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Four Bar Arena.
Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the gate. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free with a paid adult. Entry fee for contestants is $15. Advance tickets are available at the chamber.
On Saturday, registration for the car and motorcycle show begins at 8 a.m. at 4th and Main streets. The car show will feature antiques, street rods, muscle cars, pickups, Mopars, Corvettes and open classes. Motorcycles classes include chopper, open, stock and modified. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with judging at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $20 on the day of the show. The first 50 entries will receive a T-shirt and dash plate.
A parade down Main Street will start at 10 a.m. Saturday on the west end of the street near the flower shop.
“We have invited all the school bands in the area and a lot of them are really excited about it,” said Desi Tenpenny, Healdton Chamber of Commerce coordinator.
Vendors for Oilfield Days will set up on 4th Street across from the armory on Saturday. The fee for vendors will be a new, unwrapped toy with a $15 value. These toys will be given to needy children at Christmas by the chamber, according to Grace.
A street dance beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday will cap off the evening on the corner of 4th and Main Streets with entertainment by the band Swig Happy.
